Last week, PAWSitive Effects visited during St. Anthony’s late-stay program. Our students had the opportunity to play with several furry friends and to learn about proper animal care.

Cheryl Baxley, our late-stay program coordinator, said that the dogs were very gentle and the children loved them. “This was a wonderful program. We’re thrilled to have Mikael Hardy,  founder of PAWSitive Effects, as a school volunteer, too,” she adds.

PAWSitive Effects is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization that educates people about the dangerous and abusive effects of tethering or chaining dogs. The organization also builds fences for chained dogs in the community.

Thank you to Mikael Hardy and her volunteers for a very special afternoon! If you are interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities, visit their web site.
